Music

"I like that old time rock'n'roll, that kind of music just soothes the soul, I reminisce about the days of old with that old time rock and roll."

Well this pretty much summarizes the kind of music I like. Of course I am far too young to really "reminisce about the days of old", I can only imagine those. Specifically, I like Metallica, Linkin Park, Scorpians, Bryan Adams and Pink Floyd. Okay so apart from Floyd the others are not too old. What the heck? I liked the line from the Bob Seger song and wanted to use it.

I like Jal, Indian Ocean, Amr Diab, Punjabi music and Gypsy Kings.

La Guitarra

business

Currently, I am learning to play guitar. Its been about six months and I can play couple of songs (including the lead on Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends. Wow!)

I have an el cheapo Reynolds dreadnought acoustic guitar in vintage sunburst. I am planning to upgrade to an Epiphone or a Yamaha soon. One of these days I'll post some recordings and/or videos of my stellar performances...one of these days...

Bikes

business

I love bikes and biking. As a kid I always dreamed of becoming a stuntman - la Evel Knievel. However, much to the relief of my parents, I realized that ironically its not a profession that can afford me the luxury of superbikes so I chose to do Computer Science, instead.

Currently, I have a 150cc 13.3BHP Honda Unicorn which is my primary commute. Occasionally, I ride my dad's 1972 model Bajaj Vespa 150 scooter too.

And I dream of having a Yamaha R1. So, if you are ever unsure about what gift to give me...here's a pointer to something that will make me really happy.

Few simple pleasures...

I love the simple luxuries of life - fancy phones, MP3 players, game consoles, cameras - you get the drift (sadly can't afford too many of these in my current state...)

I have been using a Nokia 6600 phone for the past 2-3 year and I guess its time for a change now.

I also have a Sony PlayStation Portable which I use for playing games (what else?) and for watching Google videos/mp4 content and interesting MMS clips. It currently sports a 1 GB Memory Stick.

My mp3 player is a Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB model and it keeps me from getting bored on the daily metro commute to the college.
